Jaipur: Luxurious tea-time

Coming back from the fort, I was exhausted and decided to treat myself to an afternoon tea at the Rambagh Palace, the nicest hotel in town. It was a beautiful old palace, remodeled as a luxury hotel, with an amazing garden. I really felt like I was transported back in time, being a noble British lady during the colonial time. It was a slightly different feeling than the one I had on the bus ride only hours earlier. Again, the extremities and inequalities of this country continue to baffle, fascinate and disgust me, all at the same time.

After spending another day at the busy bazaars, with piles of rubbish, people hollering after me, haggling with rickshaw drivers, intense pollution and constantly honking traffic, I was pretty happy to jump on the train to Ranthambore National Park for some tiger safari.
