Spent a few days enjoying the expat/upper class life in Dehli, which is surprisingly similar to that of big cities in the West, such as New York or London, albeit with a very distinct Indian touch.
Below is a brief sample of some the things that we have done:
- Strolling around upscale areas such as Hauz Khas Village, with its many art galleries; Khan market with its charming cafes and boutiques; and Connaught Place with its air-conditioned flagship stores, which could have been taken directly out of mid-town Manhattan.
- Wonderful lunches and dinners at various roof top patios.
- Birthday party at an Indian movie director, with culturally talented clientele such as foreign correspondence journalists for major newspapers, writers, photographers and aspiring musicians.
- Pampering (OK, perhaps a slight exaggeration, we are in India after all), by getting manicure, pedicure and waxing at a local beauty salon.
- Watching Kristina and her fellow members of the ensemble for the musical Hair perform at a stylish night club/bar
